What does a Freelance Online Teacher do at Busuuu?

As a Freelance Online Language Teacher at Busuu, you’ll play a key role in helping students learn effectively and confidently. On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities will likely include:

- Planning, preparing, and teaching online lessons (45 minutes each) for corporate clients.

- 1:1 Lessons: Deliver private lessons that include both language teaching and personalised coaching - conducting needs analyses, assessing levels, creating bespoke learning paths, checking progress during lesson time, and setting clear goals.

- Group Lessons: (up to 5 people in EN, ES, FR, DE, IT, NL) Teach online group classes that focus on active learning and communication.

What we’re looking for in a Freelance Online English Teacher:

• C2 Level of teaching language 

• Valid teaching certificate such as TEFL/CELTA or related university degrees

• Experience in online teaching and providing 1:1 coaching or personalised learning support

• Fluency in additional languages:

  • B2 or above in English if your teaching language is not English

  • B2 or above in another language if English is your teaching language

  • Bonus: Speaking more than two languages

• Comfortable teaching: presentation skills, negotiations, business email etiquette, meeting management, multicultural communication, etc.

• Excellent communication skills to engage and teach students

• High-Speed Internet, Modern Laptop / PC with a microphone and camera

• Must comply with local freelance/contractor regulations
